It has consistently been recognized as one of the top 10 MICE destinations in Africa for association meetings by ICCA. The 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement was held in January 2024, The African Society for Blood Transfusion in 2024, the G77 3rd South Summit, The Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR-24), Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2007 stands out, which was graced by Her Highness Queen Elizabeth II, 36 Heads of State, and approximately 3,500 delegates.

Recognising the significant opportunities in the business events sector, the Uganda Convention Bureau (UCB) was launched in early 2018 to professionalise the industry in Uganda. UCB has subsequently been established as a division of the Uganda Tourism Board, a government agency charged with promoting and regulating both the business and leisure travel industry in Uganda.

The Uganda Convention Bureau is dedicated to providing impartial advice, guidance, and support to international meeting and event planners. Additionally, we are committed to offering industry-specific expertise in the incentive travel industry. UCB plays an important strategic role in supporting Government goals for the MICE sector, and in partnering with UACII to improve standards in service delivery.

A member of both ICCA, SITE and UIA, Uganda Convention Bureau adheres to international best practices for Convention Bureaus providing advisory services, pre-and post-bid support, destination expertise, event planning support and on-site services to clients.
